Queensway, part of one block |
Whitley's Mall on Queensway |
After a stroll around, we ended up finding a nice little French restaurant on Westbourne Grove (a couple blocks north and parallel with Bayswater Road), picked at random out of the incredible selection of country options to choose from. The meal I chose was Beef Bourginon, delicious, and reasonably priced as well. Stopped at a market on the way back to the hotel and got some dessert and water, and back in bed by midnight. A long day, but a great introduction to an amazingly interesting and wonderful city.
I'd highly recommend the bus tour as a way to get started! Our hotel is situated very well, just a few feet off a main east-west boulevard between the West End of London and Notting Hill with a Big Bus stop about two blocks away, a regular city bus stop at the corner and a tube station only a few feet further away. We'll explore the tube tomorrow as well as some city buses. Stay tuned for more !
